National Choir Program Manager: Chris Blain

Chris is passionate about building sustainable, harmonious communities through music.
Beginning his musical journey in boys choir, Chris forged a path into contemporary a cappella singing with his man-band Suade. Whilst performing, recording, producing, and touring for sixteen years, Chris set about building Vocal Australia – a national hub for contemporary a cappella singing that creates festivals, competitions, and resources for a cappella singers.
His work in remote indigenous communities as Operations Manager of MusoMagic helped him understand the profound benefits music can have on society, and led him to found Melbourne Singing Events, running weekend singing get-a-ways and singing workshops.
He is the musical director of Men In Suits – a musical men’s shed / comedy choir, he conducts With One Voice Whitehorse, and works as a wedding celebrant and DJ on the weekends. If there’s ever any spare time, and his two young daughters are asleep, you’ll find him in his studio making funny noises.
National Community Music Coordinator: Sally Rehfisch

Sally has been involved with music almost her whole life, starting piano lessons at the age of four. Since then she has gone on to study music at a high level, completing a Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Certificate in Arts & Cultural Management.
Sally’s passion is providing people with inclusive opportunities to participate in the arts. She is a firm believer that everyone can make music. She is thrilled to be able to express this passion through her work with Creativity Australia, as well as a number of other organisations such as Community Music Victoria and Melbourne Singing Events.
