Lila Meleisea
Lila Meleisea has over 25 years experience in music, teaching and community arts. She holds a Bachelor in both Music Performance – Improvisation majoring in saxophone (Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne), and Education-Primary (University of Tasmania). She lives with her family in Beaumaris, which is a small coastal community on the north east of lutruwita/Tasmania. She has been initiating and leading community arts projects in this region for two decades now. Lila is also a multi-disciplinary arts practitioner. Her work focuses on the natural environment, Samoan and Oceanic traditions and culture, and climate justice issues.
Leading the WOV Break O’Day choir is a great privilege and an absolute pleasure for Lila, as each and every week she gets to support and witness the delightful benefits of community singing. She is very proud of her community of singers. AND, how about those harmonies that keep popping out more and more! Wonderful!!
