Judy Woods

Judy has a passion for music and singing. She plays piano, accordion and occasionally ukulele. Judy has led community singing for a number of years with various groups.

She believes that when people make music together, connections develop. In the creative use of music to attain and maintain health and wellbeing, people of any age or ability may benefit from singing regardless of musical skill or background.

Judy has coordinated several Gippsland Acapella Festivals bringing together numerous choirs creating a wonderful opportunity to showcase their achievements and for everyone to experience the joy of singing together.

She was a founding member of Acoustic Kitchen, an acapella group with 8 women performing folkie favourites and original compositions at music festivals, community events, and weddings.

She has performed with the band Redwood playing as a full band, duo or trio in all sorts of venues, but really enjoyed playing at music festivals throughout Victoria. She particularly enjoys original music, folk music and contemporary songs with good lyrics and interesting melodies.

In singing through using just the body and voice people can discover, explore and celebrate their creative capacities in ways which no other activity can offer so easily, accessibly, inclusively, and with such immediate gratification.
