Creative programs that transform lives
Cassandra Stanford
Cassandra is a bubbly and passionate woman with a love for music and football. She has just finished her masters degree in music therapy and works as a music therapist at a local community school one day a week. She has been singing in choirs her whole life, namely, the Denis Walter National Youth Choir of Australia, the Victorian Girls Choir, the Mater Christi College Choir and With One Voice Ashburton (6 years).
She volunteered and then worked as a disability support worker for Interchange Outer East, since she was 14 years old. She has loved music and the arts from a young age but really only got into it seriously part way through high school where she picked up a trumpet. Cassandra completed a Bachelor of Music in classical trumpet in 2017.
Her high school musical career included fronting the rock band, being apart of the orchestra and jazz band and choir as previously mentioned. She was also the Arts Captain for 2013. Other bands Cassandra has been involved in include a number of popular small bands, the Australian Youth Band, Melba Big Band and Boroondara Brass Band. She currently plays a bunch of instruments including trumpet, trombone, guitar, ukulele, voice and piano. She also teaches trumpet/trombone one day a week and leads a Junior Band. She also completed the Community Music Victoria Choir Conductor weekend and their Drum Circle Workshop.
As a passionate musician, Cassandra has always been interested in leading a choir and so is excited to be leading With One Voice Bayswater!
