Professor Allan Fels AO

“I share Tania and my fellow Patrons’ thoughts regarding Creativity Australia’s successes to date. I would like to focus my message on the future.

I was delighted to hear that seed funding has been secured to expand the network of With One Voice choirs into Sydney. It is a noteworthy achievement for a young organisation like Creativity Australia to already be expanding its network interstate. I would like to specifically acknowledge the Vincent Fairfax Foundation for being our cornerstone financial sponsor for Sydney Sings.

I echo the thoughts of the other Patrons regarding support – an organisation like Creativity Australia lives on the goodwill of its supporters. In implementing a successful program in Sydney, it will be doubly reliant on the enthusiasm and support of the great City of Sydney. Its success depends on the support of the city council, local businesses large and small and all types of community organisations. A lot of these relationships will have to be nurtured from scratch.

Therefore, my message is specifically directed at our friends from Sydney – please give us your support! This is a proven and exciting initiative, capable of becoming a true asset for the community. And it is your choir, make it great. I look forward to hearing about the launch of Sydney Sings and hope it will be as successful as our programs in Melbourne.”
