Since our launch in April 2014, With One Voice Brisbane has been welcoming people from every walk of life and all levels of singing experience. Under the expert guidance of conductor Cath Mundy, members of With One Voice Brisbane have experienced amazing opportunities performing with talented artists such as John Farnham, Glenn Shorrock, The Voice’s Lara Nakhle and recently at QPAC’s Concert Hall with Dan Sultan and The Voice’s Ellen Reed.
We meet every Wednesday evening to sing an eclectic repertoire from folk, gospel and world to pop-rock with an emphasis on fun. Sometimes we sing original songs written and arranged by our accompanist/conductor team Jay Turner and Cath Mundy. We have an awesome team of volunteers who help keep our choir running smoothly.
On the first Wednesday of every month after rehearsal, Covid-permitting, members of our choir head out for a meal and a drink. This is a great opportunity to connect, share and build a stronger choir community.
WOV Brisbane presents two free concerts a year in local venues showcasing our choir; in April to celebrate our anniversary and in mid-December to celebrate the Festive Season before our summer break.
‘What a beautiful performance by an evocative choir! Thank you all! You took a great event to the next level of positive feeling and inclusion. Every single person in the room singing and dancing! The way you started your performance by meeting all of our guests was stunning. Thank you‘. – Peak Care Queensland
“Cath and choir, thank you so much for lifting our spirits at the Forum. Hearing some of the choir participants’ stories were very powerful and heart-warming.” Carer’s Forum 2017
We left our WOV Brisbane Performance last night, for the National Women in the Construction Industry Gala Dinner in Brisbane, feeling good and that we had contributed to something very special for Lara Nahkle (our soloist), that 500-person audience and ourselves. The audience standing ovation told us very clearly that they were thrilled by this significant performance from Lara and our WOV Brisbane Choir under Cath’s excellently-skilled musical leadership. We are sincerely grateful to Cath and Jay for their patience, professionalism and expertise that they contribute to us so freely and warmly – so that we not just sing (or warble) as we did alone before joining the choir, but we now sing with some confidence and sense of value under the wonderful guidance of Cath in particular and Jay. – WOV Brisbane Chorister

WOV Brisbane 2020/21
In 2020, WOVBrisbane have weathered the COVID storm admirably, coming back from
online-only sessions and returning to in-person choir in late August 2020. Together with CA
and our Brisbane City Hall venue, our core team developed an excellent Covid-Safe Event
plan which continues to evolve and improve. We have had to be very adaptable in responding
to whatever swings our way, whether it’s a snap lockdown, integrating a new check-in system
or running a covid-safe outdoor event. Our volunteer team are doing a fantastic job.
Our rehearsals are live-streamed on both the WOV Live channel and WOVBrisbane page
using Facebook Live. This gives a wider range of people access to joining in with the singing,
particularly those who may not be able to get to rehearsal for health reasons. The livestreams
have also built an international/national audience for our sessions.
Thank you to all who support our choir community including the staff at CA/WOV HQ, our
venue Brisbane City Hall, the wonderful volunteer team and our most beloved choir members.
We’re a charity recognised as one of the nations top social innovations. Our inclusive choirs unite communities and improve wellbeing in Australia and globally.
