EOFY 2020 Appeal

Can you help change a life this EOFY? All donations matched!

Creativity Australia run over 30 With One Voice choir programs throughout Australia. We bridge the gap between people experiencing disadvantage and those more fortunate using the neuro-scientific benefits of community singing. We build supportive networks that help people connect to brighter futures through our weekly programs of songs, supper, friendship and fun.

Loneliness and isolation is the global epidemic of our time and more and more people are being left behind. Statistics before the Covid crisis showed that 2 in 5 people feel socially isolated and unheard, with 1 in 5 people experiencing a mental illness. Isolation leads to serious mental and physical health issues and great economic disadvantage.

When Covid-19 hit and prevented us from meeting up in large groups, we very quickly had to adapt to an online setting as many of our participants rely on our weekly singing sessions and for some, it’s their ONLY social interaction. To continue to improve our program delivery, we require significant additional training and equipment, and also support from staff at HQ to train conductors in online platform delivery and set up.

We ask you, please can you help us keep the lights on through these challenging times?

If so, please hit the DONATE button below.

This year, one of our sponsors has agreed to match ALL donations given during May and June 2020 up to the value of $100,000. So every dollar you donate will mean DOUBLE to us!

Beth’s story

Beth was born with cerebral palsy and is one of With One Voice Melbourne’s original participants. Beth’s courage, keen sense of humour and incomparable love of life inspires us every week.

We asked Beth why she loves attending choir every week:

‘Freedom, independence and a sense of belonging. Because I feel like I don’t belong anywhere else. I do belong here. At choir no one sees my wheelchair. They see me, as a person.’

In 2014, Beth achieved two lifelong dreams: standing up for the first time, which she did at a choir rehearsal, and landing her first job.

We really need your help to continue this important work.
