With One Voice: Bonus Months Certificates

Cover photos3

Dear With One Voice choirs

Did you know the CA team sings together every morning, to kick-start the day with joy and inspiration? Connect with us on Facebook to suggest a song for us!

Better still – bring someone along to choir this festive season to share the joy of song with those who need it most. No matter who you are, singing can open doors to stress-relief, wellbeing, inspiration, friends, mentors, self-esteem and much more.

We need your support to ensure the With One Voice program can reach more people and connect communities across Australia. Without more participants before 2014, some of our smaller choirs may be at risk of closure.

GIVE THE GIFT OF SONG
If someone you bring along to the choir registers before Christmas, we’re offering two months FREE participation for both of you! Click here to get the Bonus Months Certificate, or collect one from your choir.

You might also like to register your loved one in a choir or sponsor someone in need as an amazing Christmas gift! Contact us for details.

Thank you for your support, without which none of this would be possible!

EVENTS
There are a number of exciting events coming up between now at the end of the year, including our Founder Tania de Jong AM’s presentation at TEDx Melbourne on How Singing Together Changes The Brain (3 December), Carols at Collins Place (13 December) and Carols at Bourke Place (16 December).

Check out our Events Calendar to see what your fellow choirs are up to this festive season.

Please spread the word and bring a crowd to share the joy!

Bridget’s Poem

Dear Footscray Sings

Those that attended the soiree last Thursday night would have witnessed the reading of a touching poem written by conductor Bridget Muir. For those unaware, Bridget will take maternity leave next year and will be sorely missed by all at Footscray Sings. We wish her all the very best and look forward to “singing up a storm” on her return!

Back your choirs!

Good afternoon

Over the next six weeks,it’s crunch time for Creativity Australia. We need all the help we can get to make sure the With One Voice choirs can continue and be the best they can be. So, we ask you to raise your voice and BACK YOUR CHOIRS!

This year, the With One Voice program was recognised as one of Australia’s top social innovations. We’re really part of something BIG here… and we want to keep inspiring people and connecting communities across Australia.

To be effective, and keep our smaller choirs alive, we really need more registered participants. In fact, Creativity Australia’s big Christmas wish is to secure 500 new registrations by Christmas, with 50% of participants making a full donation.

To do this, we’re asking everyone to bring one person to choir. Do you know anyone who needs stress-relief, wellbeing, inspiration, new friends or mentors, self-esteem or employment pathways? This Christmas, let’s share the joy of song with those who need it most.

Here are some ways we’d love the choir community to help:

We’ll be in touch over the next six weeks to keep you up-to-date on our progress towards 500. Plus we have some fantastic videos to share, including from the With One BIG Voice concert.

Thank you for your support. Without your support, none of this would be possible!

Change of Venue 12th November

Dear Melbourne Sings

This week, Melbourne Sings will again be held in the foyer of 101 Collins Street, Melbourne, due to other events happening at the Sofitel. We apologise for the late notice.

Please wear black clothing and your With One Voice t-shirt as this will be like a mini-performance. Please note that filming will also be taking place for the Moonee Valley City Council mini-documentary being made about Beth. See you all there!

Make it Pozible for Sydney Sings!

Dee

Dear Sydney Sings Friends!

Remember the ‘guy’ who went by the name of Albert, Liz’s husband, who was in the background filming you while you were rehearsing and telling you that there would be a film someday?

Well, there isn’t a film just yet but there is a 10 minute trailer and a 3 minute teaser!

After 2 years of hard, solo, work, I have now come to the point where I need to pay an editor to actually cut the film. That’s why almost 2 weeks ago we had a fund raiser night during rehearsal and also started a crowd funding campaign on the Internet to raise those funds.

So far it’s going really well. We’re almost half way.

You can see the trailer and teaser, and show them to your friends and family here

There’s a also some background information on the project. And if you are so inclined you can also become a producer of the film by contributing to the crowd funding.

If you don’t see yourself in the trailer/teaser, don’t worry. You will all somehow end up in the 52 minute film!

Have the best day ever!

All my love,

Albert

This week and next, Suzanne and Ross are road-tripping around the With One Voice choirs to sing, catch up with you all and film some brief interviews with anyone who would like to be involved for our special “I Wish…” project. It could be a wish for you, a wish for the choir, a wish for the world, or something you are grateful for. We hope that many of you would like to take part in this fun and uplifting project.
