Climb Every Mountain

It’s 60 years today since Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reached the top of Mount Everest… and we have our very own Everest mountaineer amongst Melbourne Sings!

A few weeks ago Melbourne Sings farewelled Bec by singing Climb Every Mountain (click here to watch) from The Sound of Music. She’s now back safe and sound with lots of stories to share!

“If I had anything to describe the experience, it would be that out of the 15 people in the group, four got helicoptered out. And, this photo tells a little lie – out of a total party of 45 people, two people actually made it higher than Everest Base Camp – myself and one other kept on till the summit of a black peak called Kala Patar, at over 5545m above sea level,” Bec said.

“What an adventure, and that outstanding rendition of Climb Every Mountain by the incredible people at Melbourne Sings really did get me to take the next step when times got tough. Which they did.”

Congratulations on a wonderful, inspirational adventure, Bec!
