Join the Choirs

Creativity Australia has limited places available in their mixed community/business choirs entitled Melbourne Sings and Geelong Sings. These choir programs involve members of the general public and employees from various city businesses, disadvantaged people and migrants (especially unemployed ones). The choirs rehearse with a top choir leader and there are performances scheduled for special events. Catering is provided as well as Allan’s Music discount cards for all members.

For participants it is an opportunity to improve self esteem, develop leadership potential and use your voice to be heard. You will also learn how to work as a team to meet challenges by unlocking your creative potential. Casual mentoring and networking is encouraged to assist migrants and other members to build friendships, self esteem and employment pathways.

The cost per employee is $500 plus GST for the 12 month program (approx $10 per session) and we encourage a donation of $500 to cover the cost of one disadvantaged person to participate as well.

OPPORTUNITY – Geelong Sings Choir
Waterfront Christian Church, 35 Corio Street, Geelong at 5:30pm

We are looking at commence this exciting choir program on Monday November 16th at 5:30pm going until Christmas on Monday nights. Thereafter, we will work out which day suits everyone best for 2010. We are awaiting final confirmation on venue for this and will update the final poster for you to send around to everyone in your workplaces and contacts lists.

OPPORTUNITY – limited places available in Melbourne Sings Choir
Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on Tuesdays at 5:15pm

Creativity Australia has limited places available in the mixed community/business choir entitled Melbourne Sings rehearsing Tuesday night at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. This choir involves employees from various city businesses and residents from the Fitzroy/Collingwood Housing Estates. The choir rehearses weekly on Tuesday afternoons at 5:15pm with a top choir leader and there are performances scheduled for local hospitals, charities and special events every quarter. Sofitel provides catering and venue and Allans Music discount cards and assistance with musical resources.

This is an opportunity to bridge social capital as well as identify, train and employ residents from the estate. For participants it is an opportunity to develop leadership potential and use your voice to be heard. You will also learn how to work as a team to meet challenges by unlocking your creative potential.
